Maintaining Your Extensions
How To Maintain Your Extensions
~
Do not wash your hair for 48 hours after your tape extension application.
~
Maintenance is recommended every 4-6 weeks.
~
Naturally you loose roughly 100-150 pieces of hair a day. Hair will be brushed out during your maintenance appointment, but do not confuse this for damage. This is what your hair has naturally shed during the 4-6 weeks.

You may tone the hair extensions, but it is not recommended to bleach them AT ALL.
~
Brush your extensions BEFORE washing. Never brush wet hair. Brushing wet hair causes breakage.
~
Plaiting or braiding your extensions at night time will prevent tangling whilst sleeping.
~
Do not scrub your roots aggressively whilst shampooing.
~
Do NOT use any product containing KERATIN or PROTEIN. These ingredients can be found in products labeled reconstructing or repairing. Always check the ingredients before using on your extensions.

Muk Ultra Soft Shampoo & Conditioner are HIGHLY recommended.
Use a hair oil once daily or as needed to keep your extensions hydrated and soft. Moroccan oil is recommended as it doesn't contain any red tones, so it won't change the colour of your blonde extensions. Our hair care pack can be purchased inshore or online.

The extensions aren't attached to your scalp, so they don't receive the same oil that your hair produces naturally. By applying a hair oil regularly, it keeps your extensions hydrated, soft, and prolongs the life expectancy.

Apply a leave in conditioner before swimming. Using a high silicone conditioner such as Pantene is recommended as it acts as a protective barrier between the hair extensions and the salt / chlorine.

Using heat on your extensions everyday shortens the life span of them. By applying a thermal heat protectant before using heating tools on them, will help protect them from heat damage. We recommend Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil Primer which can be purchased from Mecca.

When using your heating tools, keep the heat away from the bonds of the extensions.
