I live for giving clients the hair of their dreams... especially when it turns out completely different (and even better 🫢) than what they first imagined. One word for this look? STUNNING.
From customising bonds to blending colours and creating flexibility with the final style, here’s the full breakdown of how we got from before to after.

Step 1: Customising the Bonds
For this look, I worked with 125g of keratin bonds. By cutting the standard 1g strands in half, I created 0.5g micro-bonds, which doubles the number of bonds from 125 to 250.
This technique allowed me to:
-
Distribute hair more evenly and closer to the hairline for maximum coverage.
-
Match the density of the client’s fine natural hair for an undetectable blend.
-
Avoid a bulky, heavy finish that 250 x 1g bonds would have created.
Step 2: Colour Blending & Dimension
During consultation, we identified Colour 2 as her base match. However, since the client had previously been platinum blonde, I accounted for potential fade and added 25g of Colour 3.
This subtle mix added both protection and a soft dimension through the mids and ends, keeping the final look rich and natural.
Step 3: Styling & Flexibility
The client initially requested a long bob. Once her face-framing layers were cut, we decided to leave the added length for now. This gave her the flexibility to enjoy both styles: the chic bob she originally wanted, or longer lengths that could be cut back at her next appointment if she wants to... but seriously.. we're obsessed with this length!
Step 4: Service Pricing
This transformation included 125g of hair extensions, customised into 250 micro-bonds for the perfect distribution and blend.
Total Service Price: $1,875
Caring for your extensions:
To support the client’s aftercare, we recommended our Hair Care Pack which is a complete set of hair extension safe products designed to keep extensions looking soft, shiny, and healthy for longer.
We trust Muk products for our extension clients because they’re specifically hair-extension friendly. They’re free from ingredients like keratin and protein, which can actually make extensions brittle over time. Instead, Muk formulas are gentle, nourishing, and help maintain the health of both your natural hair and extensions.
Good aftercare isn’t optional, it’s the key to making your extensions last longer and protecting your investment.
Soooo, if can't tell, Keratin Bonds are an absolutely favourite hair extension method of mine. No other extension method offers the same level of precision and flexibility. With keratin bonds, stylists can:
-
Tailor bond size for discreet, natural-looking installs.
-
Control weight distribution for seamless blending.
-
Maintain flexibility for clients with fine or fragile hair.
On another note, If you’re ready to level up your keratin bond skills, you can dive deeper in our Online Masterclass or book in for a Hands-On Keratin Bond Workshop (available upon request).
This method is truly loved by both clients for the seamless, natural results and by stylists.
